Grab any YouTube thumbnail in seconds
Every YouTube video ships with up to five thumbnail sizes, from a tiny 120×90 preview to a crisp 1280×720 HD image. Paste a link and we show every size that exists for that video, so you can save the one you need — for a mood board, a research note, a blog post or your own channel's redesign.
Nothing is uploaded and there's nothing to install: thumbnails load straight from YouTube's image servers into your browser.

Frequently asked questions
Why is there no HD (maxresdefault) version?
Older or low-resolution uploads often don't have a 1280×720 thumbnail. We automatically hide sizes YouTube doesn't provide and highlight the best one that exists.
Does it work with YouTube Shorts and live streams?
Yes. Paste a youtube.com/shorts/…, youtube.com/live/…, youtu.be/… or embed link — or just the 11-character video ID.
Can I use the thumbnails anywhere I like?
Thumbnails are the creator's artwork. Use them for reference, commentary or your own videos, and ask permission (and give credit) before republishing someone else's design.
Why did the download open in a new tab?
Some browsers block direct downloads from YouTube's image servers. When that happens we open the image in a new tab — right-click (or long-press) and choose Save image.
